In it’s 47th year, this course covers current issues in antepartum and intrapartum assessment and clinical management in obstetrics. The course is designed for physicians, midwives, obstetric nurses, and trainees. The faculty instructors are internationally known through their clinical and basic research, scholarly articles, and texts.

Objectives
This conference will cover the management of selected maternal medical complications of pregnancy and delivery using evidence-based guidelines.
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Counsel patients regarding maternal conditions that can be uncovered by prenatal genetic screening;
- Diagnose and manage vasa previa;
- Appropriately manage fetal heart rate tracings in labor and coordination of care;
- Counsel patients and manage perinatal infections in pregnancy, including CMV and syphilis;
- Evaluate and manage cholestasis in pregnancy;
- Diagnose, evaluate, and manage venous thromboembolism in pregnancy;
- Counsel patients on the importance of maternal mental health care and provide resources;
- Improve coordination of patient care throughout pregnancy and delivery with respect to communication and hand-offs;
- Advocate with a deeper understanding of health disparities and the central role of healthcare professionals in providing equitable, patient-centered care.
