May 8 – 10, 2025 – Omni Amelia Island Resort – Amelia Island, Florida
This three-day course provides internists and general practitioners with up-to-date information on rheumatologic disorders and provides a complete general review for rheumatologists, rheumatology fellows and advanced practice providers. From this course, participants gain a better perspective of how to recognize and diagnose common rheumatologic disorders, and determine which patients can be managed in their practices and which need referral to a specialist. Residents and fellows will have an opportunity to participate by submitting original studies for poster presentations.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Review basic and up to date etiology, pathogenesis, treatment, and clinical/therapeutic aspects of rheumatologic conditions
- Demonstrate interpretation skills for rheumatology laboratory testing
- Identify patients that can be managed in primary care practices, and patients that need to be referred to rheumatology
- List autoimmune diseases that women are at higher risk for as compared to men
- Review novel cellular therapies such as CAR T-Cell therapies and stem cell bone marrow transplant in rheumatic diseases
