Memorial Sloan Kettering’s 2024 Oncologic Toxicity Management (OTM) Symposium represents a cutting-edge, multidisciplinary approach to managing adverse events associated with modern oncology treatments. The increasing complexity of these treatments, coupled with the influence of genetic, biological, and environmental factors on toxicities, has made effective management a significant challenge. OTM employs advanced tools and techniques to identify individual differences and create personalized treatment plans.
By offering evidence-based and tailored treatments for adverse events based on each patient’s unique needs, this program aims to minimize the risk of additional toxicity. This approach contributes to improved quality of life, reduced morbidity, and consistent dosing of cancer therapies.
During this one-day, in-person Symposium, participants will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with experts at the forefront of OTM interventions. The program features a keynote presentation and didactic sessions covering OTM from bench to bedside. Each session will conclude with an interactive panel Q& A with the expert faculty.
The OTM Symposium will cover a diverse range of topics, including:
- Updates on Current Adverse Events Specific-Biological Targeted Therapies
- The Role of Diet, Exercise, CBD, and Cannabis
- Sexual Health, Psychosocial Health, and Fertility
- Case Discussions on Challenging Cases of Patients with a Prior History of Autoimmune Disease and Treatment with Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors
The Symposium aims to provide crucial insights into the mechanisms underlying these adverse events, offering opportunities for intervention and personalized patient care.
